Walk of Hope 2018 Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Walk of Hope?
Saturday, September 15, 2018
Campus Walk: 10AM
Fun until noon!
Is the event Rain or Shine?
YES, the Walk of Hope is RAIN OR SHINE!
Where is the Walk of Hope?
On the Carrier Clinic campus, 252 Route 601, Belle Mead, NJ 08502. The entire event takes place on the Carrier Clinic campus.
How long is the actual walk?
The campus walk is a 1 mile loop. Participants are welcome to walk the loop several times if they would like a longer walk. However, we planned this event so that everyone could participate and have fun! The loop is flat and accessible, and completely contained on our campus, so it’s safe too. There are many activities for the whole family throughout the morning. The Walk of Hope is an important fundraising campaign for Carrier Clinic. Our goal for this event is to raise funds for and awareness about mental illness. One in five people will suffer with a mental illness at some point in their lives, Carrier Clinic is there to help those who need treatment.
Is there a registration fee? Is there a minimum amount required?
We do not charge a registration fee and we do not require that participants raise a specific amount of money, however, this is an important fundraising campaign for Carrier Clinic and the people we serve, and we ask everyone to try to participate in the fundraising. No donation is too small, and every donation makes an important difference in the lives of the people counting on us.
How can I participate?
You can participate in several ways:
You can register and raise money as an individual. Just follow the prompts and register as an individual and be sure to set up your personal participant page and send emails to your family and friends asking for their support of your efforts. Every person who raises $108.00 or more will receive a special 2018 Walk of Hope t-shirt. You can only earn this t-shirt by raising $108.00 or more.
Team Participant/Team Captain
You can register and join an existing team or start your own team. Just follow the prompts to set up your team page and your personal page.
If you cannot join us on the day of the event, you can register as a virtual walker and still support this important cause. We know that people have to work, have family obligations, or aren’t feeling well, and we understand that you still want to be part of this event. That is why we created the “VIRTUAL WALKER”. Simply check the virtual walker selection in the registration process and you are on your way to helping us raise funds and awareness. Don’t forget to set up your personal page and send emails telling all of your friends and family that you are participating in the event. We even give you sample emails to make it super easy!
What is a “Team”?
A team is a group of your family, friends, and colleagues who participate with you in support of this important cause. Any number of people can make up a team. We offer a team tee shirt contest and award “bragging rights” certificates to the team with the best overall design and the team with the best inclusion of the mission of Carrier Clinic in the design of their tee shirt. It’s fun to participate together!
